The Monastery of Transfiguration's 30th Anniversary

Once again the Monastery of Transfiguration in Bukidnon celebrates its 30th anniversary after the foundation in 1983. This year’s anniversary was graced through the presence of His Eminence, Luis Antonio Tagle of Manila. During anniversaries at the Transfiguration church, I always look forward to the Gala Concert, a concert that features the Philippines’ top international acclaimed classical performers, and all other unique musicians in the country. It all started after I listened to the heavenly stratospheric voices of the Philippine Madrigal Singers performing as guest artist many years ago.

The Gala Concert was on August 5, 2013 at the Monastery of Transfiguration Church. I was again astounded knowing the featured guest performers in the Gala Concert were pride of Bukidnon, as well as artists who gaved honor through their crafts in music. The first artist was known to be one of Bukidnon’s internationally acclaimed ethnic performer Waway Saway – performing all the way from Asia, Europe and USA promoting the essence of Talaandig culture and Indigenous music, and was joined by Talaandig Band. The other guest artist group is Bukidnon’s internationally acclaimed Bukidnon State University Chorale – Resident artist of Bukidnon State University, toured Asia and Europe years ago, with the group’s vision of promoting the Bukidnon music through chorale artistry under the tutelage of Ms. Mercibelle Barroso-Abejuela, a graduate of Music from the University Of Santo Tomas Conservatory Of Music in Manila.
