A Bukidnon based but native of Davao who was known to be a song bird. She is simply called as Ayegee.
Dubbed as "The Crying Diva", her being dramatic and emotional in
performing made her a unique and stood out among the others.
Ivy Grace Paredes in real name is a 32-year-old Midwifery student who joins singing contests in small fiestas and gave numerous recognition and honor in Bukidnon in the fields of music both local and national competitions. Aygee is one of the most sought after powerful belters. When she was about 15 years old, she joined the famous show of ABS-CBN's local singing competition in Davao namely “Awit Tanghalan” in October 1999, and was fortunate to win the title singing the all time medley "The Lord's Prayer / I believe". By the time her name was known to be as one of the song birds, she joined the ABS-CBN’s Magandang Tanghali Bayan Singing Competition. Famous after winning national competitions, she then joined Sing Galing, Eat Bulaga's Birit Diva and Philippine Idol.

Her voice is one of a kind. She has such a wide vocal range that blends with sweetness and strength. She can be next to Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez because of her effortless in reaching high notes and her vocal prows.

I saw Ms. Ayegee competing @ Talentadong Pinoy years ago. I can say she is great and very competitive. Every time she performs at the stage of TP, she will surely hook every one by her golden voice. Sayang, she did not win.
ReplyDeleteHi Rica! Thanks for dropping your comment. Super YES! This lady is very talented. She joined several singing auditions in the Philippines and she was aired on TV. In Talentadong Pinoy, she was the Hall of Famer and was noted for being a consecutive winner. :)

I saw her back in 1999 when she performed at Awit Tanghalan. I will always remember this lady, her very emotional stage presence and powerful voice at the age of 15 or 14 I guess. If I am not mistaken, in the grand finals of Awit Tanghalan, she beat the 2003 Star In a Million 1st run Sherin Regis. She has this one of a kind voice. I'm sure she will be one of Philippine's pride and of course, in her native land Bukidnon.

So true, the time I saw her performing was at TV 5 in Talentadong Pinoy stage, I always admired her song interpretations and her effortless in reaching the high notes. I am hoping that one day, Ayegee will receive a big Break and will join international singing competitions like WOCOPA.

In 2001,Ayegee joined ABS CBN's now defunct show MTB singing search called Star Quest.She finished 2nd place.Mau Marcelo who later became Philippine Idol was one of the grand finalists too.
