The Saugan benificiries holding the poster of Tabang Malaybalay. |
The houses in Saugan are mostly made up of natural materials such as nipa and bamboo. As the super tyhoon Yolanda/Hayan swept pass their indigenous houses didn't stand a chance. Fortunately, Saugan was not as badly hit as neighboring towns such as Guian and Tacloban, but they have been devastated by the typhoon, nonetheless. After 3 trips to Samar and countless telephone calls we were able to distribute 200 GI sheets for the repair of their houses. These sheets will help them withstand future typhoons. To those who joined us during the Tabang Malaybalay: A Benefit Dinner, your donations and dinner participation had helped the victims in Barangay Saugan.
