When you talk about sacred and holy place in Bukidnon, the Monastery of Transfiguration is the best example. The City’s 25 year old Monastery of Transfiguration will always fascinate every visitor because of its beautiful ambiance, peaceful scenery and a perfect place for reflection. The Monastery of Transfiguration is located at Barangay San Jose in Malaybalay, 15 minutes away from the city. The church was inaugurated on August 6, 1983 by the first Filipino Abbot, Fr. Eduardo Africa and former Malaybalay bishop Gaudencio Rosales. National Artist for Architecture Leandro Locsin designed the Transfiguration church.
The church is one of my
favourite places in the city. The annual anniversary is in on the first week of
August which highlighted by their “Breakfast with the Monks” after the
early morning mass including the gala concert in the evening that will feature
the top Classical music performers in the Philippines.

Great shoots! This place is amazing and you capture its beauty perfectly! Had the chance to visit the monastery recently and we were all amazed by its tranquility and serenity. Hope to spend a night there, soon!

If you have time to visit Bukidnon, try to visit on the first week of August. It's the Benedictine's anniversary and usually there is a simple breakfast with the monks, and the most highlighted event is the gala concert featuring Bukidnon or international classical musicians. This August 5 and 6, 2014 will be the La Danza painting exhibit of Vicente Barretto.
