Filipinos are know because of their extraordinary talents. Both international and national stage, Filipino talents are being recognized. Lea Salonga, the Broadway singer and actress, and Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, Philippines' Prima Ballerina from Russia. A new Filipina singer who's voice is like an angel cascading up and down the scale like a roller coaster went to compete in Asia's Got Talent Season 1 and became the 3rd placer.

Gerphil Flores, known as "Fame Flores" in the Philippines is a classical singer. I got to know Fame because of the Philippine Opera Company (POC) - the country's first opera company that promotes the beauty of opera and classical music. My idol/voice teacher also joined POC where they toured Europe in 2009.

Fame is one of the talents of POC before. I remembered she portrayed a role in the opera "The Magic Flute" in 2009. She is also one of the singers of Opera Belles before (a pop-classical trio) where she performed together with Lara Maigue, a song writer and actress, and Allison Gonzales.

Fame is a unique singer as I compared her to some of the singers in the Philippines. Most of her songs are classical operatic and songs from the Broadway musicals. Her soprano voice and her beautiful face is a complete package to international stardom.

In 2010, Fame joined Pilipinas Got Talent. She was recognized by the three judges because of her raw talent in singing. She even competed in the semi-finals but failed to go on for finals because of the judge's decisions. Many were mad because she wasn't able to compete for finals knowing her wonderful song she sang entitled"Via Dolorosa".
